rebellious
right, when i first put the escort together i planned on using a fiesta rs turbo clutch, but when i tried fitting, it, the clutch wouldnt even engage, using the fiesta release bearing, the pedal was rock hard, i noticed that the fiesta and escort clutch bells and release bearings where different? my flywheel is a 220mm, with an ib5 box, the fiesta clutch was 220mm aswell, should i have used the escort release bearing not the fiesta one? being different shapes an contours? need to find out why it didnt work, the one i fitted to get it on the road again and its not far off creamed. and obviously i dont want the same headache again, am planning on getting a stage 1 organic item, something with abit more meat anyone had any issues similar? scottg17
Yes, You need to use teh escort thrust bearing. the fiesta one will not go over the collar on the output shaft of the box hence no movement in teh pedal
rebellious
so it'll be ok with the escort release bearing, even tho the shape of it doesnt match the shape on the ends on the splines in the clutch bell?
