Scort_CVH
Alright peeps ive been told to buy parts (as the cars tipped a valve ) So im getting inlet £9.99 and exhaust valves £9.99 (2 of each as its currently unknown as to which ones are damaged)(Ebay)Head bolt set £12.40 (Euro car parts) Now heres what im stuck with i need to get a headgasket, exhaust manifold gasket and camcover gasket so the question is do these come in the Head Gasket Sets that im seeing on ebay? Stu
I wouldn't buy anything until you've got the head off and checked the damaged. Might have cracked a guide or even a piston.

Stu
Can you explain in detail how you have gotten to this point? Eg the diagnosis? Symptoms?
Scort_CVH
Can you explain in detail how you have gotten to this point? Eg the diagnosis? Symptoms? The timing belt came loose. We put on a new timing belt kit and re-aligned the timing, the car runs but is very lumpy uptill about 3/4k revs then drives as normal. I took it to a garage they said its running badly as they think its tipped a valve because when you unplug the injector at low revs nothing changes but when you raise the revs and plug it back in it sounds smoother. Sorry thats just me trying to remember, and as i use the car everyday i was going to try and get the parts so once its stripped down it can get the new valves, skimmed, gaskets and put back on. but what i think ill do is get it stripped down and inspected, send it off for skimming and buy the parts while its away
Stu
Sounds like cam timing is out to me. If you had a bent valve you're be able to hear it. A compression test would be a useful test too.
scottg17
may not be timed up correctly, but, i bought a head kit from ebay when i replaced a valve on my old 1.6 The kit i bought seemed to be of fair quality. the car run fine with this kithttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-ESCORT-FIESTA-M...5#ht_1369wt_911 ... stu beat me too it was too busy looking for the set on ebay Edited September 15, 2010 by scottg17
