mexico_16v
I have worked for Kwik Fit for 6 years now, i love my job, i really do. I take pride in my work i also won't let a job go untill it is 'finished' properly as for overcharging and work not being carried out, well you just watched it. I've worked in 2 centres in Cornwall, and 2 in Hampshire, i have seen some proper shadey stuff occure over my time. I started at Kwik Fit with no skills at all, they trained me up to be a Nqv Level 3 trained Service Tech, i also ran my own centre for quite some time aswell, i'm also ATA trained and hold other Nqv's for air con, brakes, cutting and welding, etc, etc.. No i have'nt put this up to say how great i am, i wanted to put it up to say Kwik Fit as a company are not bad people to work for, they do look after some staff... To work with them on the other hand is a problem.... The targets they set are very high, you have to ring your Ops Manager 3 times aday to give them updates on how much you've taken or done, if it is'nt enough, there will be trouble. We have targets for brake work, trackings, mots, wheel balance, shocks, springs, service, exhausts, you name it, we have a target for it. I'm very honest with customers about the work that is needed, i WILL insist they take the car away for a second opioin (sp) and then make their minds up. I do get embrassed about our prices aswell, i honestly can not remember the last time i sold a tyre at Kwik Fits price.. It is a dog eat dog out there.......... It is a dog eat dog out there.......... I bought a tyre from kwik-fit last year after violent blowout on borrowed car - 195/50 for £40 including fitting seemed pretty fine considering I didn't care much about the make... But I would never take my car there after having tracking done in another branch about 2 years ago - it was a Saturday afternoon and it was the only garage opened in whole of west wales - £35 for about 5 min wouldn't bother me, but their attitude did - they obviously didn't want to hasle with some old escort on a sunny afternoon + I idiot gave them mine phone number so I was receiving fokin insurance calls until I changed the number. BTW ATS is as bad as well.

For example, if not many people came in the shop that day, and the few that did only wanted to buy a pump, they expected us to make each and every one of them leave with Fcuking bike!! If yous are not reaching your targets, will you just tell people they magically need their tracking done for a made up reason ? Afterall... if you don't hit your target, there will be trouble? It's not a rant at you, it's the managers, Fcuking numptys.

I would'nt want to be ripped off if it was the the other way round?? I do get embrassed about our prices aswell, i honestly can not remember the last time i sold a tyre at Kwik Fits price.. Fcuk the figures, if people don't need stuff doing there is seriously nothing you can do about it, and if they want you to lie... sure there will be something against that. Halfords tried to make me do thatg with bike repairs but sharp stopped once I asked if they were asking me to lie to customers in order to make them pay money for somethign that isn't broke.
