RESPRAY?

Hey guys, ive been quoted £2000 for a full respray on my escort! Bit steep as last time I was quoted from them it was £1400! I know a guy,a lot smaller set up who will do it for half of that. Now i know you usually get what you pay for but, if when it gets sprayed I decide to 1500-2000 wet n dry the whole car then polish up to perfect finish do you still think it'd be worth the extra 1000, or are they just trying to sting me cos they're a big company?

up to u mate in personal experience i found big companys to be just as bad as small ones i have had a respray on a non riusty car and 2 wks later its rustin up and paint flakin off etc and also have seen how rushed jobs are at big firms, best thing is is to find existing customers of each place an see there jobs i personal found a small family run business and wont use any one else now

cheers m8, the bloke who does it all himself actually specialises in airbrushing, seen some of it in the flesh and pics of cars on the net from my local area and does look pretty good. only concern is getting orange peel effect, suppose I can always wet n dry it down and buff till shiny if that ever happened!

Larger bodyshops will try to do work quicker because they need loads of cars a month to cover wages running costs etc,two grand for a respray is not that bad but do your home work ask to see examples of there work but then they mite show you one that's come out really well to get you to have it done there,I work in a bodyshop last respray we did cost customer six grand,it down to choice you get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!!
