Picked this up on Thursday and instantly fell in love.

Excellent condition throughout and not a spot of rust on it's galvanized body. Electric windows and wing mirrors, and mint condition leather interior which matches the body colour.

Drilled discs up front, green stuff pads, new calipers and hoses as well. Not what I would have picked, but it stops excellently! Sporty but subtle exhaust system sounds amazing.

The engine is amazing, smooth and grunty for an old 8v lump. Book figures state it should be 115bhp, but it's noticably faster than my old 16v which was supposed to be 140bhp from the factory. I'll get it on the rolling road that's next door to my work over the next couple of months to see what she's putting out.

No real plans as such, but the oil and water temp guages are inaccurate, so I'll be replacing the sensors with brand new Audi ones from work.

Yet to receive it's first was, so my apologies for the state of it in the pictures!

Forgot to say, wheels were refurbished this year, so there's not a mark on them :D

looked at a couple of them before the A4 turbo I eventually bought became available.

was a relatively nice drive for low bucks and your right, for a low power 8v engine it tugged really well at low speeds, not a very good result at higher speeds but I suspect at motorway speeds it'd feel just as nice as around town..

gotta love those galvo bodies (dont like dents being panel being beat tho so be warned), couldnt knock the build qaulity of audi on my A4 either.

I like these and as you already noticed they have plenty of grunt on the 8v's.

My brother had a green one & it was nice and quick, might be more torque than the 16v you think?

Lovely example this is as was my brothers. Stand the test of time rather well.

Aye, I think the 16v must just make the extra bhp from revving higher.

I think they look beautiful :)
