Craig855S
Got it this morning, 2550 of my hard earned, 60MPG averaged so far doing mixed driving. Bad bits i noticed after i handed over the cashWindscreen has a crack in it at the top on the passenger side (noticed when i washed it, it may have actualy happened on the journey home as i heard an odd sound like a crack, just unlucky maybe)Check display has so far said the parking lights are broken one minute and not the next, and its also saying "high emissions, please service" but the previous owner done the oil and filters at the beginning of the month and it passed its MOT on the 9th. We'll see what the volvo forum brings up. BMW 540i ??? Eh? Priorities have changed mate, I dont want a fast car, I want a comfy economical car with a great stereo, and now i have that. Craig855S
It's more than a good inbetweener mate, its all the car you'd ever need (especially chipped) Pics and a full review of it to come in a SUYM once ive given it a good polish etc.. currently getting the 306 ready to sell. But ill let you know, its done 53MPG average so far, on national speed limit areas its epic. 60MPG at 80MPH

Problems are dual mass flywheel issues on post 2004 models (mine doesnt have dmf) and some electrical bits like leccy seat connector breaking up and the instrument binnacle failing...so say the forumites

simonfinesse
nice ovlov, can't go wrong with a volvo even the dogs are good cars, i 've just owned a phase 1 850 for 2 yrs and loved it so reliable but 19mpg was getting abit much! i'll be honest the escort has been a bit of a culture shock! enjoy! watch out for injector problems it's well documented on the volvo owners club forum. from a ex voc member. Craig855S
I had an 850 for 18 months mate (an N reg) It was a 2.0 10V and the economy was quite good i thought (think i got 450 ish miles to the 70 litre tank) I think they're fab cars and if i hadnt got rid of it when i did i'd probably still be in it now.
