Karmann_RS
Everytime i accelarate or change gear the front end of my escort kinda slides a little from left to right, like aqua planeing. I have had the car checked at several local garages and they have all said they cant identify the problem as everything is intact and good condition, so they think it could need new front shocks or springs? Has anyone else had this problem before? thought i would ask you all as being Escort owners you would have some better knowledge
shawdreamer
the symptoms your describing can be caused by a multitude of problems unfortuntly. ranging from tracking out, arb link/bushes failure, lower arm failure/bent, driveshaft warped/bent/stripped, balljoint deterioration, gearbox/engine mount to something as simple as wheel balance or even mismatched rubber. worse still..... it can be minor contribution of some or all the above (and others not mentioned) contributing to one bigger problem. what if any actions have been taken to fix the problem beyong the garages "having a look" might help with diagnosing your issue Has anyone else had this problem before? thought i would ask you all as being Escort owners you would have some better knowledge In my case it was a contribution of tracking and slightly warped alloy that caused my car to nose side shuffle....especially when crossing road markings. joe on a mish
lower suspention arms are at fault most likley as that happened to me you excelerate away the car pulls to the right idealy if you can jack up the front of the car check both sides for movement in the lower suspention ie if you can pull the wheel towards you and push it back again you lower suspention legs are knackered Edited October 3, 2010 by joe on a mish
