2.0 question

after deciding the 2.3 rs2000 route was too expensive ive decided to just go 2.0 zetec (turbo at at a late rdate)

 

im gna run the non pats ecu etc but ive got chance of a 2.0 mondeo cheap for the engine etc an a freind as the right ecu for me. ive been told i will need the 2.0 injectors an maf/air flow meter off a mk1 mondeo so they will run right with the mk1 ecu. is this true or will the mk2 1's be ok to use?

If you've got the donor car simply take everything off of it and you're sure of a match.

 

 

Steve I have all the bits- engine ecu maf injectors throttle body keys transponder but am led to believe that I need a pre pats ECU. Its all off a silvertop mondeo on an S reg. Am I right in saying you did the conversion without the need for a DEEP, DESK, DEWY ECU any advice on whats what?

When we did the 2L conversion we used a Mondeo ECU with PATS - code name TAXI - swapped the Escort transceiver for the Mondeo one, then just modded the wiring from the transceiver to the ECU as the transceivers use different plugs. No other wiring mods are needed as the Mondeo Pats ECU has the same pinouts as the Escort PATS ECU. We were lucky enough to get the red key with the ECU so just had to program our existing keys in, otherwise you would need to swap the key chips over.

Cheers Steve- my mate went an got it (engine). I'd presumed twas a silvertop not mentioned to him that I wouldn't want a blacktop and he's brought it back and it's a blacktop. Happy days :vangry:
