Hi, New to this site and just got myself a mk6 escort si.

She has 69k on the clock and I'm the third owner and is in great condition. Both owners before me were ladys and it really shows, only faults seem to be a slight leak near passenger footwell which I will sort out soon and the rear boot only opens via the popper on centre console not the key so will investigate that when sunlight arrives.

Best bit about the car is the price which was £500 with long MOT and Taxed till 6/11.

I'm going to do a few subtle mods over the next few weeks but nothing that can't be put back to standard IE wheels, lowered and few interior bits.

Hope you like :thumb:

Got to work on tidying her up today gave her a bloody good clean and spent a while under the bonnet, big thanks to my brother for the cam cover took a few hours but makes a huge difference.

The exhaust heatshield was painted in high temp hammerite but its only a tempory fix untill more funds come my way. Spent about an hour just on the bonnet underside and debadged all round and gave the front bumper a go with the G3 to remove most of the chips and scratch's.

Before..

Also good news about the leak which was from a rubber grommit near the battery tray area and the rear boot now opens with the key! Happy days so far.

Just took off the cam cover degreased it then had the tedious task of wirebrushing and going through the different grades of sandpaper, used 240, 600, 800, 1200 then 1500 wet n dry. Then used a mop/polisher with two different compounds (forget the name but one was blue and one was brown).

Can do it for anyone local to clevedon/weston super mare plus there's a ford garage down the road from my brother so the rocker gasket was easy to get hold of too.
