1988 FORD ESCORT 1.6mfi CABRIOLET MOT & TAX

Sadly im putting my cabriolet up for sale as i want an escort or fiesta rs turbo. Was thinking of doing the conversion to mine but its cheaper to buy one already done and saves all the hassle as im working 7days a week at the minute.

 

Its a 1988 F reg its not an xr3 on logbook but got the 1.6 mfi xr3 engine.

It has a brand new electric roof works perfectly and have the original cover for it when its down.

Its showing 140k but still drives perfectly.

 

MOT AUGUST 2011 & TAX END OF FEBRUARY

 

For the last MOT the previous owner spent abit of money on the car its had a new battery tray, new brake shoes, discs and pads, new steering rack and exhaust system.

Underneath has been undersealed.

 

The underneath is solid the boot is solid and rust free.

Car has had a full respray at some point so looks good polished up.

 

Engine was serviced a couple of months ago so oil nice and clean.

 

Alloys have 4 nearly new tyres.

 

Bad Points:

 

As the car is 22 years old it has a few minor bits.

 

The passenger door has had a few marks touched in but wth the wrong shade of paint (see photo) i was to get just the bottom of the door resprayed but never really bothered me enough.

 

The respray up close isnt a perfect bodyshop finish but u have to get up really close to notice the slight defects.

 

The drivers side seat has a slight tear on the bolster could be sowed up or repaired as the foam is fine.

 

Its getting harder to find these in this condition and would make an ideal summer toy. I wont take silly offers for it but i know it wont fetch what it will when the summer is here.

 

Would like it gone this weekend if possible as seen an rs i might buy.
