ganges
well as some of you know had a bit of a prang three weeks ago, so long story short, have been paid out as car beyond economical repair, and I am well chuffed v reg, 67,429 miles on clock, 1.6 finess not modded, in reasonable knick, paid £600.00. so have a guess how much they valued it at, had a £300 excess, so quess how much I ended up with, bit of a give away in the title. ganges
well impressed my fine featherd friends, some smart cookies on here, i was well suprised by the outcome as below car valued at £900, less £375 excess, got £530, i really did not expect that, so having had the car for 18months it has only cost me £70, plus I got £79.16 car tax refund, very happy chappie, so now on a look out for another escort, i believe my last one held up very well from the accident
LiamGTR
What about insurance? You just put that on 'hold' until you get a new Escort ?

No Liam keeping it going for the time being, going to be easier, when i get a new one, just to swap reg, and engine size ect, as required, because i am a silly old sod, my monthly primiums are not sky high, and dont plan to be without a car for long hopefully, if that makes any sence at all

ganges
now correct me if i am wrong (and i will be), have you all read this thread properly, ie:- 34 years no accidents or claims, protected no claims discount, and bear in mind everybodys insurance is, or has gone up, and if none of the above apply, wait till it happens to you, and see what happens, and yes getting close to , now putting tin hat and flack jacket on, i am happy whats the problem, just trying to give my personnal experiance
