Matt_Si
Well said that man! It isn't all about money and thats my point. For a lot of people, as has been said above, it's not all about the money it's more about the enjoyment you get out of cars. You get attached to a car and you will only break it as a total last resort. Ive seen so so many GTIs and a few RS2000s being broken on here which i dont understand. I guess some cars pick up a following and some dont thats all it is. I mean if a car is beyond repair its beyond repair, but breaking a perfectly good car is something i dont agree with personally. marshy
At the end of the day, regardless how much of an ford enthusiast you are you will always do what gets you more money. If you don't want to lose money on a car buy an RS simple, but dont crash it. Will you? If that's the case, why am I chucking loads of money at an M-reg Escort that I know I won't get back? I know a lot of Ford enthusiasts that would rather lose a bit of money than break a perfectly good car. At the end of the day, I don't mess with cars to make money, I mess with them because I enjoy it and, to me, it's worth the money because of what I get out of it. I know that if I come to sell my project car, that I'll lose loads, but that doesn't matter. It's the journey and the enjoyment that counts +1.. i repair it cos i cant afford to buy a new car..plus i like the look ive given it.when the time comes (when the "owner" side of me kicks in) id rather put it back to standard and sell or break..if i think its worth it.. ie an mk4/5/6 rs or mk4/5 xr then id probs repair more than break it.. (as the enthusiast in me says there the kind of escorts to good to be scrapped)itys all down to the person imo.. take heavyrightfoot (just an example waynetta! ) he has constant flow of escorts coming in.. the ones that are good enough.,. hell repair and sell on.. the ones that arent worth it will be broken as theres money there.. all the while he has a minty mint sierra cosworth in his garage (alongside a few others )
