shawdreamer
so who amongst us takes sneaky peaks at the presents the missus has wrapped and wont tell you what they are. I for one will admit my guilt and in addition my thorough intention to do it again. I just caught the missus wrapping a present for "owen"..... except Owen hates car games and that definetly was the new NFS she tried to hide. so due to her trusting nature I will tonight be getting out the remaining wrapping paper of the same type she used to wrap it and slyly unwrapping, swapping the disc out for some random disc and be playing NFS tonight boys. course Ill act all suprised when I open it at xmas, and obviously be careful to not let her see the box contents until I can switch em back
Craig855S
LOLS, I cheat, in that I often get the present before the actual day. My PS3 was a christmas present years back, bought that in early november. It makes the actual day less "magical" but i couldnt give a hoot TBH, Christmas for me is more about my kids having a good time, and that doesnt mean I need to open presents on the day (however this year my missus refuses to allow me to use my presents early, an electric shaver and new camera)
wwwd
I don't see the point of "cheating" at Xmas. Never done it and never will, and I think it's wrong. Someone's put the time and effort in getting you a present and wrapping it, therefore that should be respected.

shawdreamer
You should be f*cking ashamed of yourselves. I'm with you on this one tbh.Totally unnecessary. I was born and raised to fend for myself as neither of my parents gave a flying shite, I dont expect sympathy and Id never except it but I also dont expect myself to be judged by my beliefs due to my raising. that in mind, I believe Xmas doesnt mean a flying shite to me beyond giving me a better reason than usual to make my son smile and buy him everything he wants beyond that xmas doesnt mean a cack to me and I act accordingly. Regardless of your beliefs your wife obviously has certain beliefs & wishes to wrap your present for you to open on christmas. All this proves is a total lack of respect for something she believes is a nice thing to do for you. Many people have different upbringings that dont need to be followed through into adult life. I can only asume your wife wants to banish any bad feelings of christmas by making it nice now for you both, something that she is obviously wasting her time with. I can understand you making it good for your son but I do remember our kids enjoying watching us open our presents too. I can understand you making it good for your son but I do remember our kids enjoying watching us open our presents too. psychologically my missus motives are alot more simplified as she makes a point of never intruding into my beliefs and morality without good reason. She's simply innocently believing that receiving presents makes me as happy as it does her on the regular occasions I buy her them. She also know unwaveringly that the only reason I allow the celebration of xmas around me is entirely for my sons benefit and holds no importance to me beyond that. ....and once again a thread on a very simple subject basis becomes philosophical debate I don't get any presents. <spreads arms wide> come ere, lemme give you a hug!
