JC
so im now buying v6 mondeo calipers, what disks do i need? will they fit under rs2k alloys? IIRC the RS2000 alloys are too small to fit, unless you trim the calliper, Escort cossy discs with Mondeo v6 calipers
massivewangers
You can get them to fit under RS2k wheels, but I think you have to grind the caliper and run a spacer I believe. Even then it's close. I've seen a picture on here of them fitted. They'll fit under most 15" wheels though, I've had them fitted under 15s without issue. I'd be tempted to fit 300mm ones myself. They'll go under certain 15" rims, I've seen them behind Fiesta Zetec-S 15s with a bit of caliper grinding. I'd avoid the RS2000 brakes for certain; they're pretty crap IMO. kizza9989
so to fit the calipers i need to grind them? if not what brake upgrade can i get to fit without grinding?
massivewangers
The RS2000 brakes are the biggest that will fit under the standard MK6 RS2000 wheels without modification, but I really wouldn't bother, I found them really disappointing. I can't see the point in forking out for the upgrade parts for a pretty poor braking set up. GTI wheels can be had cheap, even the 16" Mondeo ones are cheap, and then you could have the 300mm brakes, which are the best budget upgrade by far! ScORTED
http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...c=94686&hl= http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/R453_WHK/DSCF0006.jpg pretty sure his sierra will have 260mm front brakes as they don't fit straight on, 7mm spacers and a bit of caliper shaving will get them on as per the above pic I have done this
bronze4door
so i guess i have shot myself in the foot a little bit then and now will need some different wheels for it i'll see what they dont fit like in the morning then report my findings back
ScORTED
its a combination of the offset and the dish... it can be done though, i first though a few mm shaved off the face and 5mm spacers would do it and it just did but i added another 2mm of spacing to give expansion roomlooks the rubbish though with the brakes filling the wheels! bronze4door
i tried em this morning and the wheels definatley wont fit, i have got some spacers knocking round somwhere so i will dig them out and see what i can do
bronze4door
just a quick update, the RS wheels dont fit but the christmas tree style triangle things off my estate fit on without a problem, no caliper shaving was required
JC
Which RS alloys? I'm having Danzetec make me some spacers, so cossie discs and v6 calipers should fit perfectly
