converting from CVH to RS2000

My first question about doing such a conversion is can I use my current CVH EFI fuel tank and pump system? My second question is about the exhaust mainfold... I have the RS2000 mainifold but will it mate up with my existing exhaust as i want to keep the exhaust as I only recently fitted it.

If your exhaust is cat back then yes, otherwise no

the exhaust won't be correct for an rs2000 / zetec as its off a cvh, it could be adapted though

....youll need a angle grinder and some exhausr clamps

 

also, pics of current engine bay..... I need to figure out were all my cvh engines bits properly locate

Cat back they are the same, the flange holes line up but the CVH flanges are much bigger than the zetecs

 

thats the only problem i had with the magnex on my 1.4 and ill be using that on my RST engine when i find an ofab ecu

If his catback is anything like the one on my 1.4 right now it'll be fine.

 

granted the 1.4 manifold exit diameter (and the standard cat for that matter) is much smaller than my catback (which is a good 2 1/2"), the way the mid section connects to the cat via a loose plate clamping joint you can pretty much make anything work.

ok thanks for the info so far... my next question is this - I have the rs2000 engine bay loom, does this just plug into the rest of the exisiting CVH loom? or am i gonna be cutting and splicing with a multi meter?

nope it won't even if its the same year, i know of only a few people who have been able to make the rs2000 i4 run on a chopped about loom, your best bet is to fit an rs2000 wiring loom and fuse box then wire the rest of your car into it

or do what I did and fit the full loom
