Cobb was stuck in some kind of dream limbo basically took ages to find Tadashi and he didn't realise that he could just kill himself and come back to reality. No, he was stuck in limbo till the sedative wore off. Which in limbo takes a very long time. Although I don't get how he didn't grow old in there. He was fantastic in The Departed and Catch Me If You Can.
