2.5 v6 escort?????

This has gone the usual way these threads about a V6 escort go, with everybody saying turbo a 2l zetec instead as its cheaper, less work and will give you more power.

I still reckon you should try chucking one in though. Reckon it'd be a laugh.

Exactly, typical response on here, follow the sheep. Make a gti rep and put a 2,0 turbo in. its old hat.

The ST24 v6 was 170 bhp and the ST200 was 202bhp

The vectra v6 was 192 bhp

The whole point is to mod your car different to other people, be innovative and make a mark on the scene so to speak.

You already tried to scam a toblerone!

TBH id think it would be a laugh as well, there are 3 escorts that i know exist with a V6 in them

One is a member in here called 'bloke', he has pics of his build here : http://www.byphotos.com/my/album?album_id=25158767

2nd is a really rubbish cossie rep with loads of stickers ECT all over it

3rd one is a Van

2nd and 3rd ones were both on ebay not so long ago

lol major difference in bhp there then

No one else has bothered because theyre not CAPABLE of doing the job. Like many on here, ideas are thought up, but never thought through or seen through

It's be a laugh to spunk thousands on getting 160 odd brake? IF you like wasting money and really want a mk6 that is slightly faster than a 2.0 but slower than a "on a shoestring" 2.0 turbo.

Surely the reason your driving an escort is because you cant afford to buy something that is this quick as standard? (such as an ST200, which will be cheaper to insure, better to drive, and better specced, than a mk6 with the engine in)

I think this conversion would probably cost so much that you'd be able to buy and run something much better with the money..Think of the possibilities! (300BHP car [anything with a turbo and tune it slightly, or something with a V8 like the E39 540], or 160BHP mk6 escort?????)

There's a van kicking around with this engine and its 4x4. Very smart but no easy task. I'm sure I posted a pic a year or 2 back of it.

I'd personally rather have a reliable v6 kicking out 170Bhp with the V6 burble that goes with it than some clapped out CVH turbo or zetec producing the same, just because its different.

It is a lovely noise...

It'd be nice if one day one of these threads was "I want to put a Duratec v6 in my Escort and make it RWD".. then i'd give it all the support in the world!

Front or mid-engined though?

In an ideal world a front mounted engine with rear mounted transaxle, but I think that's probably asking a bit too much! :)
