Lol this is the whole point of the thread just to see if it will cost far too much to build or can be done budget...

i have my GTi as my daily driver (red one) not to thrash and get power out of, I have my rs turbo fiesta with buckets harnesses stripped and caged for thrashing and play, the whole point is i have a spare escort (black one) and we have a cheap engine available for a budget project on the side no time limit to complete it in, no real purpose other than to say yeah we have attempted it and learnt a bit from it..

There's a van kicking around with this engine and its 4x4. Very smart but no easy task. I'm sure I posted a pic a year or 2 back of it.

I'd personally rather have a reliable v6 kicking out 170Bhp with the V6 burble that goes with it than some clapped out CVH turbo or zetec producing the same, just because its different.

Duratec V6. Reliable.

It's not a Cologne or even Essex, it's made out of fudge with a crank of glass. Or I must be an absolute pig, because I've seen the end of the road for no less than 5 of these engines. Then I finally learned my lesson. They don't respond to power upgrades "very well".

Sound ? OK, with a proper exhaust it's nice, but it's not the reason to cut escort up. In my mind anyway... Smallblock V8 ? Yup.

They are hardly terrible..... a bit softer than some ford engines but still I would still argue they are reliable enough if you don't trash the fanny out of it and skimp on servicing, we had two and they gave not a spot of bother
