ScORTED
ET15 is too low for an escort as in they would stick out too much, what size and how wide are they 33- 38 is fine for a mk5/mk6 upto about 7.5j
Jordan99940
can some one just give me a quick lesson what all these 'symbols' mean? What does et40 mean bye what does 6.5j mean?
tezmanian devil
6.5/7j etc is the width of the wheel, example, my comps on the project are 8j so 8" wide, I don't no anything about et/offsets so can't help with that. Scorted: the wheels I'm looking at are 7j x 17" comp mo's...
trickydicky
I'm pretty sure offset is how much in or out the studs are in comparison to the wheel. A wheel with studs near the centre is quite a high offset to the outer edge, as it doesn't sit flush.

Ahmotorsport
Offset is where about the centre of the wheel is to the outer, for example, if you had ET - 7 You would have a fair amount of dish because the part of the wheel you bolt to the hub is before the centre line of the wheel., that's inset, outset is the opposite. Hope this helps.
