hi all,

iv been having problems with my locking wheel nuts and trying to get them off. the locking key has been damaged and bent out of shape. i got them on the car without problems but cant get them off again, has anyone got any ideas to get them off

if you can still get the key to fit over the nuts then use a breaker bar,put a little bit of pressure on the bar as if trying to remove the nuts,at the same time hit the end of the breaker bar( in direct line with the end of the socket) this then gives the threads on the nuts a wee shock which should make them easier to remove.

i fully understood mate, i gave it ago but the key kept slipping off them, iv managed to get three of the our off but the last one is being a sod and won't budge, from where it slipped its rounded it off slightly

you got a few options depending on wheel type 1. you can try bashing on a socket 2. carefully with a hammer and chisel (not recommended if you have expensive wheels )can work well if you can hit it at the right angle 3. use proper locking wheel remover tool 4. drill out nut and stud (you wiil have to replace stud after ) :thumb:

ok thanks mate, iv tryed the soket and no such luck, ill try and get hole of a removal tool, if not ill try the chizle, cheers

I had the same problem when my locking nut key snapped, and these removed them in a jiffy.
