17" tyres

looking into getting a set of 17" alloys for the ghia i have,

at the moment its on standard suspension( hope to lower it this year sometime by 30mm)

got an rs rear disc beam fitted,

just wondering what size tyres are best for ride comfort/handling and rolling circumfrence to keep the speedo reading right speed.

think the wheels are known on here but not sure of make, they are on the old white si that nadine had.( that car is in a sorry state now, front pass side is fubared)

any pointers welcome. cheers.

I had 205/40/17s and they wernt too bad for ride (as far as lowered on 17s goes lol) the wheels rubbed the wheel arch liners but I'm sure that was more to do with wrong offset tbh

 

Any parts worth having left on it?

I got the same size tires 205/40/17 lowered on -40 springs and dampers and have NO rubbing whatsoever.

its got the two litre engine in it and all others bits are complete i believe, i got the strut brace from it also.
