Hi everyone,

I have done a search on the forum and across Google but I am still none the wiser.

I want to fit a revcounter to my Escort TD, trouble is the Diesel revcounter clocks are a bit thin on the ground. Called round the breakers in my area and all they have is binnacles from Petrol Escorts, no Diesel versions with the little 'D' on the tacho.

A few posts from various Escort related forums have said that some peeps have used the Petrol engine clocks in Diesel powered Escorts without any problem?

Does anyone know for sure before I waste £30 on a set of clocks that won't be of use in my TD.

Thanks.

Petrol dials work on electrical pulse where as TD ones get the feed from the alternator so if you connect a petrol one it will just fly round to 7 and stop there lol

Had petrol ones in my old van. Shows idol at 3k then as soon as you touch the accelerator it shot of the scale.

Just got to wait until a diesel tacho comes up.

Thanks for the info guys, got a Diesel one sorted today. Quite lucky that it was plug and play, the only mod to make was swapping the speedo unit over for correct mileage.

Oh yeah, I found out that my Finesse has the loom in place for a heated front screen..........
