Posted March 2, 201113 yr For the first time ever apple are having a product launch live from the BBC in London! It is rumoured to be BIG with BIG announcements! But what have they got up there sleeve this time? Launch time is 6pm tonight! But with Steve jobs being off with a serious illness, who will be launching it? It's rumoured Stephen fry is up for the job! I will try my best to keep an ongoing feature release update on this thread but I will be at work so it may be a bit broken in some places.
March 2, 201113 yr Can't help feeling sorry for those who got one for Christmas & now barely 2 months later a better model being released.

Bit of a fanboy, eh?

I'm all for innovation Lee and although I called iphone fanboys myself I couldn't rate the iphone4 highly enough, plus there was a major leap in performance, quality & features to boot. It's just this ipad business seems too soon and rather unfair to those who bought the relatively new version.Personaly I think anyone who bought one within the last 3 months should get an upgrade.

March 2, 201113 yr Can't help feeling sorry for those who got one for Christmas & now barely 2 months later a better model being released. Yep, gutted. Well actually, I'm not that gutted, although I'm interested to see what "new" features this one has that makes it so much better.

March 2, 201113 yr This is a huge shitter for people who bought the ipad 1. If the 2 costs very similar prices to the 1 but makes the 1 look like a snail then i agree people should be given a free upgrade. But anyone who buys a 2 even though they have an ipad one already is a Fcuking chump

March 2, 201113 yr Never saw the point in the first one to be honest. Another gadget for the sake of it. Though I'm sure it will sell in its millions, as all Apple products do. Their marketing guys must be very very rich!
March 2, 201113 yr Author Seems a bit of a let Down if I'm honest... 33% thinner, dual core, hdmi, 2 colours, same price. I'm a bit rushed at work at the mo so not got my thumb in yet. The only reason I would get one is so my missis could have mine as she don't put mine down! Lol Apple has just made its second-generation iPad official! It features a dual-core A5 chip and, finally, cameras, both front and rear! The new CPU is said to be up to twice as fast, with graphics performance up to nine times better than on the original iPad, while power requirements have been kept the same. Battery life is, consequently, unaltered, with Apple promising 10 hours. Pricing, too, has been left unchanged, starting at $499. The new tablet will come with an HDMI output capable of 1080p -- which will set you back $39 for the requisite dongle -- but we've yet to hear any rumblings of Thunderbolt connectivity. There's an enlarged speaker grille on the back, as expected, though resolution has not budged from the original iPad's 1024 x 768.
