Posted March 4, 201113 yr I am having a very strange problem with my gears... The gears slide in fine when the engine is off but when the engine is running I have to really wrestle to get the gears in... I think it may be related to engine gearbox mounts? as its a recent transplant... any ideas?
March 4, 201113 yr Author New clutch needed. There's your problem. nope - already a new clutch and recon box... the clutch works fine, it can be dipped when the engine is off, any other ideas?
March 6, 201113 yr And can it be dipped when the engine is running ? Have you moved or reset the clutch ratchet ? What about the release arm ? Has it been put back in the right position ? I suppose it was, otherwise the thrust bearing wouldn't work properly and you would notice that, but sometimes is enough to have the lever out by just couple of teeth and bearing can't reach deep enough.
March 6, 201113 yr definatly clutch issue as all the problem is is the fact that the clutch is not clearing whilst the engine is runing there are three causes for this.... 1 clutch is excessivly worn. 2 Clutch has had incorrect adjustment 3 Dipstick who has put the clutch in has also put the friction plate in the wrong way round ( and yes i have had this in the past were ppl have done diy cutch changes)
