Danzetec
Very very nice chap, is that the Rover inlet? does it bold directly on or need redrilling/welding? Thanks, yeah it is a rover turbo inlet but it isn't a direct fit. Upper and lower sections have been cut / welded and adapted for use on the zetec is that a black top or have u just used the rocker cover? if it is i need to talk to u lol, as u so kindy told me to at FITP lol need help then, engine mounts, wiring looms, water pump and cam bellt...lol read that many stories i dont know what the truth is anymore Hey Richmond, this current engine is a silvertop with a blacktop cover but my old engine was a blacktop. I modified the engine mount by extending the 3rd hole to suit, the wiring loom is fine if you use the silvertop/escort ancilleries and the power-steering switch needs carefully bending 45deg to clear the oil filter. As above I machined the block to accept the silvertop water pump and you need to mount the cambelt tensioner slightly round on its arc due to a core plug being in the way, then use the blacktop belt (iirc ) because its a bit shorter Its too much work for it to be worthwhile imo but at the time I didn't realise there was any difference between the silver and blacktop so had to modify what I'd bought
richmond
I'll make a mount then, been told I need a mount off an escort using mtx box (xr3i 130ps) but I later found out the engine dits in the wrong place. What exactly needs machining? What box dud u use? Ib5 or mtx?
Danzetec
I just used the ib5 'box and the same engine mount and extended the inner hole over to bolt up The hole in the end of the block needs machining much bigger to allow for the impellor, the blacktop runs an external pump out the front of the block And the bolt holes for the waterpump and tensioner pulley need drill / tapping
richmond
I've alreadybuilt the engine back up

Danzetec
Well after problems with air leaks and cooling issues we managed to take the car out on saturday and write a running-in map to the ECU I'd like to say a HUGE thanks to Stu for being so patient with me and giving his time to sort out the problems in time for Ford Fair The cooling system doesn't seem to be working particularly well even after installing an additional pair of fans to the front of the rad, so I'll have to look at that over the next few days. Think I'll remove the thermostat for the time being as its warm and check its operating fully Got a few bits to do for FF on sunday but shouldn't be an issue and just means 1K miles of running-in before the full map (inc cold start) is sorted out
