Which was later turned into an AHM Sierra Cosworth, it was then that the race wins came rolling in.

I'd say that was front engined rather than mid.

nar, it does look like its main bulk has been pulled back behind the front wheels.... especially when you note the rad is still in its original position and the head is tucked well under the scuttle.

Just done some research is it neither known as mid or front. It's known as FMR, Viper and newer corvettes use the same, + others.

What does FMR stand for?

 

Front Mid + Rear wheel drive.

MR as you know is the normal term, Mid means anything the engine between the axles. Prefix is set as to which axle the engine is closest to.

So it is Mid engined but front or rear needs to be specified, fair enough, makes sense.
