wwwd
I'm sure I might have asked this a couple of years ago and the bottom line was it wasn't possible, but I'll ask again. Basically I've got a Samsung Q45 laptop which had Vista pre-installed. But I would like XP running on it. Is this possible without reducing the functionality of the actual machine? (i.e. the webcam or wireless Internet won't work anymore, etc.)
markbsi
depends if there were other samsung models with the same hardware but used XP OS. you might have to search through a few different models to get all the different drivers. took me 2 weeks on my old Sony Vaio to find all the drivers

smithyandco
Buy a cheap second hand 2.5 sata hdd on ebay... test an XP install on that! Nothing to lose, other than a couple of quid! For drivers check the hardware -> http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/b2b/pro..._mobile/q45.htm It mostly seems like Intel parts, drivers for which will most likely be available from Intel's website. The other parts seem quite standard so drivers should be fairly easy to find! wwwd
Windows XP is the most stable operating system Microsoft has ever produced. Virtually every school in the country uses it.
PeeWee
Windows XP is the most stable operating system Microsoft has ever produced. Virtually every school in the country uses it. In all fairness Windows 7 in my eyes is the most complete stable Microsoft OS to date. Vista with the latest service packs & updayes should be equally as stable if not better.I simply couldnt now go back to XP.
