massivewangers
Some of those GSE rear ends are worse than standard! The stuff they did was quite interesting though. Seems to be a huge number of variations, many of which were never homolgated. I met Baz Cannon quite recently, who did the F2 stuff, so was quite an interesting one, he did say that some of them never worked very well. Seems they were constantly trying to improve it, with varied success. The scissor-type arrangement they did was quite interesting, though I don't really know how well it worked. Craig855S
I don't know why ford Gay out of 4WD, Fiat made a 4WD panda, and still managed to sell it for pittence, so they cant use the excuse "It's too expensive" To make a car that tuners will adore (and therefore, actually compete with the likes of Subaru and Mitsubishi) Ford need to make a 4WD RS model. You really are a clown. So the Focus RS handles and corners better than an Evo or scooby (300BHP ish model) then? there is no denying the car is impressive, but 4WD would have made it more impressive and tunable to much higher levels. I love fords and would rather pay out for an esc cos than pay the same kind of money for a newer Evo or considerably newer scooby (beacuse they depreciate horribly) but I'm gonna stick my neck out and say the evo and scooby will be quicker round a track than the focus RS, and that is all down to the car being FWD, had it been 4WD they could have given it considerably more power comfortably

They care about shifting units. 4WD would have made the car more expensive and harder to sell. They don't care about Barry in his shed trying to up the boost and find 500bhp. On a dry track, I can't see there being a vast difference between the RS and a 300bhp Scoob/Evo. In the wet may be a different story of course. The Focus was built to smash all the other hot hatches faces in, which it did. How much is an Evo/Scoob? Slightly more aren't they?

In twisty circuits, that quite happily eats Sierra, Saphire and Escort Cosworths, mainly because it doesn't have any Turbo Lag. If you think FWD is so bad, watch that go round a track, its unbelievably quick. I was passenger at Ford Fair, i could not stay in the seat, i had 4 point harness in the standard seat and i was sitting in the drivers seat for most of it. Craig855S
27,900 for the 2009 RS when new. £32,500 for the 2011 impreza STI saloon AND hatch, £35,500 for the RS500. And Subaru dont have a problem "shifting units"
