trickydicky
Update on this. Well, nothing has changed really. Had its MOT (which the HIDs passed BTW - they only cared about the beam pattern which was fine).Failed on two ball joints (more play than a playsation controller stick) and a busted rear brake caliper and worn pads.Got the new ball joints under warranty (wishbones from ECP, only 10 months/7000 miles old), ordered a new rear caliper and pads.£187 later and we're all good. Changed the HIDs from 35W to 55W and they make a huge difference. But the N/S headlight motor has fallen off its rails, makes a buzzing sound as it tries to adjust constantly.Installed a (chavvy, I admit) boot light upgrade with two LED strips so I have a good view at night, will take pictures tomorrow of this. If I have a spare day I'll extend the wiring and put it behind the relevant panels, but instead it just goes under the boot carpet along with the rear light wiring. scottg17
Wouldn't say the lights are chavvy seeing as you fitted them for practical reasons Nippy wee things them, had one sticking on the arse of my ST through the bends the other night
trickydicky
Cheers scott!Yeah awful boot lights really annoy me - can never find anything when it's dark. Some night pictures: http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab250/trickydiky/DSC_0175.jpghttp://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab250/trickydiky/DSC_0174.jpg It's nippy enough, and a lot of owners are putting the Z20LET engine in (Astra VXR) which makes these things absolutely fly!I don't have the cash to do that though, although sticking a turbo on would be very fun!ST looks good! You got it mapped? I hear they absolutely shift with a map on.
scottg17
its bog standard just now, hoping to get a remap, dream-science or code-red because as I add mods I can adjust the map to suit Probably start with CAIS and an ExhaustLarger IntercoolerRemap Would be looking in the region of about 280bhp when its all done should go some then! scottg17
Well....... thought I was being clever and didn't declare my points, 4 years since the conviction so don't really count in the eyes of my licence anyway, elephant must had done a driver check and my premium leapt from 1300 to 1900, got an email from them this morning telling me the excellent news , within 14 days so just cancelled and getting my deposit back Lesson learnt was a bit daft TBH... but moving on Got a quote from Flux DirectPoints declared, CU20, 3 points for illegal window tints in 20082 years NCBSole and only driver£1139, works out at 125 per month for 9 months after my deposit For 22 I can't complain at all, and its cheaper than elephant was even before my points Edited June 20, 2012 by scottg17

I got a bit lucky with my insurance. £452 for 10 months and I'm 20 with 3 points. HIDs declared.
