We need more pictures :D

More pictures but nothin' major.

Had a problem with overspray on my freshly painted wheels. Being done inside with no ventilation meant the overspray gradually settled on the nice new paint!

Apart from my finger mark this is how they all looked!

I re-flatted the 1st wheel, re sprayed black and laquered. Didnt fancy doing them all this way. After a quick experimant i worked out that a tac cloth worked a real treat. Got rid of almost alll the overspray leaving the surface just slightly rough. Then I gave it a new coat of laquer and bingo. I think it helped that I did it outside so any overspray was blown away from the wheel.

And now that looks how it should of 1st time round!

Yeah dried, i couldnt find right word as im not english speaking :) metalic paints must be lacquered immediately after spraying base color. It will blend and will be like 1 layer/color. Of course it will dry, but will not hold on it so good

Its not metallic so should be fine, been a while since I last updated and its still all good ;)

Not managed to do a lot today, gutted as it was really warm but the mrs wanted the new rabbit hutch sorted out :vangry: The idea was to get my front bumper almost finished but NO! so heres what little I did get done!

Finally managed to close up the gap between the splitter and the bumper. Plenty of trial and error but looks loads better for it, dont think i have a pic of the wide gap originally.

After being moved from pillar to post around the garden by the mrs it picked up some nasty cracks where the bumper had bent but the fireglass didnt! :censored: I cut out all sections that had come away, screwed through what was left into the bumper and fibreglassed over the top. Hopefully now it will stay solid enough.

Cheap nasty hockey sticks that are not made for this bumper......are a bi*ch to fit lol. Had to make a couple of cuts at the bottom corners to allow them to bend where i want them. Also required a trim down the lengh so it followed the curve of the bumper. Now a case of bridging upto the bumper. This will be blended in/sprayed bumper colour and the splitter will remain seperate in probably a carbon film once its fully repaired. I dont want to blend that in too as down the line I dont want it to start flexing and cracking.

Wheel spacers fitted and arches cleaned out. Nothin major, just a quick spruse up.

One of the rear with exhaust fitted. Just needs a slight twist to sit level. Hopefully picking up some standard lights next week, jury's out on whether to half tint or not.

Hope to get more done soon now we have good evening light. Gotta start making use of it for once lol.

nice mate, just had a read through!! when mines on the road and you need a hand give me a shout! always up for helping a fellow escorter!

how do the spacers make the wheel sit now are they flush with the kit?

Er not quite lol. Fronts are in just a bit and the rears really could do with more. The kit is MASSIVE, so much wider, I have a slightly wider RS2K beam too! I'll get it al sprayed and see how it looks once done. Or get some wheels with the right offset to bring them out. Not sure what offset I would need though and cant really afford new rims yet, thats why i refurbed the ones I got.

A decent day weather wise so decided to pull my finger out!

Filling the gap between skirt and sill in the back door.

You can see the difference the spacers have made. Front wheels sit nicely now. Also bit more filling gaps with fibreglass. Once all done, I may score some 'joint' lines in so it doesnt get stress cracks down the line. I also tried righting this pic but it wont have it :nutter:

I wasnt sure the bumper looked right compared the size of the rest of the kit! I have been looking for a wrc bumper, but for now I will finish this and decide once its all done if a want to change it. After all, it'll only be a coat of paint so not hard to do.

I do need to borrow the dremmel from work to get into tight areas in by the skirt/sill (rear doors). My fibreglassing went a little bit mad and i cant be bothered to spend ages sanding down a perfectly square corner, not when the dremmel can do it in a couple of mins lol. As it is now the n/s rear door wont close lol. May do it tomorrow night then its almost filler time.

Oh and in reply to sorted ford, yes iI will trim the lip of the arch. I'l do it last up.

cant wait to see this finished mate,it'll be a one off.

Cheers. Thats what Im aiming for ;)

Ive also got some standard rear lights to replace my lexus jobbies. Maybe half tint but not a priority.

Also have OE gear/handbrake gaiters to replace my white ones.

Just got to make the most out of the weather when its good and try not to get too distracted with doing too much.
