Ahmotorsport
Small update. Kurust and respirator arrived, so took the filler off the front arch and Kurusted it, magic stuff! However, i decided i'd be a man and not wear gloves as the bottle says, so i now have black/blue hands......It doesn't come off. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P280611_1233.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P290611_1740.jpg Squinting so the sparks can't get your eyes. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P290611_1819.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P290611_1820.jpg
Ahmotorsport
Couple more pickchaars for today, i've spent most of today planning exhaust/inlet manifolds for it and finally came up with the best option IMO. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P300611_2231.jpg Copyright AHM 2011 http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P300611_1805.jpg
Ahmotorsport
Was at work today, there is a scrap man next to us and he has lots of tyres, so i was having a butchers for some for ol' Imp and i found this. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P010711_1247.jpg He said i'm more than welcome to have it, all seems okay, spins freely, no side to side movement, a little up and down though, he also said he's got more bolted to engines which i'm more than welcome too, so on Monday when i'm back from Donnington Park, i shall go Turbo hunting.
Ahmotorsport
Little update, both front arches have been re-fillered - 1st coat, off to start rubbing down now. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P040711_1729.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P040711_1729_01.jpg
Ahmotorsport
Update if you're interested, i got the IMPression (<--- see what i did there?) that you were bored of my daily updates so i thought i'd wait and do a big one. Good news, pretty much rubbed down, just need to go over it, check it and theres a couple of bits i've deliberately missed.Filler is nearly done, one more coat to the front arch, one or two more to the rear.I might have another engine for 50 quid, BARGAIN. Another 875cc, so i can build that up ready for the Turbo conversion, it also allows me to make the manifolds etc on that one, which is probably the best way of doing so. Bad news, i keep finding the panels are warped from when it was welded, so more filler is required to fill the low spots, not to worry. Anyway, to the IMPortant stuff (<---- Man i'm so F*cking clever) Pictures: http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P050711_1437.jpgAnother one http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P090711_1704.jpgTemperature gauges (oil and water) http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P050711_2114.jpgThat enough primer and mixing cups? Lol. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P110711_1609.jpgToggle switches for the new dash i'll make for the gauges. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P120711_1949.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P120711_1949_01.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P120711_1950.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P120711_1950_01.jpg That's all for now, probably do an update tomorrow, have a driving lesson tomorra afternoon so i wont be at work, so, providing i'm in the mood to get on with it, i should get a lot done. Can you see it? I need some of that, what is it called?Cheers all.
Ahmotorsport
On it like a car bonnet this morning/afternoon. Fillered the rear and front arch and a bit on the bootlid. Then carried on rubbing down, just need to do by the rear window, rear crossmember and front valance (awaiting the drill and wire brush for that though, quite rusty where it curls under the front)Currently sanding the front arch, that arch should then be finished, another layer or two possibly for the rear arch, so, i'm hoping to be mainly done this evening and tomorrow evening i can strip it and do touch up's to the bit i couldn't get to. Pictures for so far. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P130711_1317.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P130711_1316_01.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P130711_1317_01.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P130711_1316.jpg More pictures later i expect. Yeah i do like seeing it progress, it's tought me a lot about bodywork too which is another +. It'll be my road car, slowly get the bits together to Turbocharge it, eventually, stick it on track perminently. Then have something like a Ford 100e with a 1300 Crossflow or an XR3, really fancy a Saph though haha.
Ahmotorsport
The update for this evening.Still working on the front valance, quite a few IMPerfections in it (<---- F*ck me i'm hilarious.) and it's used up all my sanding discs, so hoping to get some more tomorra if not the next day, but i've got some 400 Grit which i can use for now. Front arch is done, just filling the low spots on the rear seems to be taking it's time.
