reese646
Well I picked this up last sunday and know its a well known car on this site so am glad to be bringing it back on here again. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0203-1.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0202-1.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0207.jpg well where do I start lol, she's in a pretty 5hit state to be honest, and I know various past owners are on here so not trying to annoy anyone but the cars seen better days. the rear bumper is cracked to pieces almost, the sills are also very badly cracked, theres a chunk out a front wheel arch, the door seals had perished, the window seals were going the same way. the lights at night were like a disco, no main beam, no indicators, she won't start when hot. the alloys are badly curbed, and as I found out yesterday one is also cracked, the dash board has holes everywhere for badly fitted tweeters and removed snoopers, non of the after market dials work, the engine roll stabiliser has perished, the alarm has a defect and I think thats about all I can think of for starters, oh not mentioning the slicks it was running, and I mean slicks lol, nearly killed me in the wet the other night WELL so from there you'd ask why buy it, well its engine runs well, the underneath is solid enough and somehow its got 11month mot on it, plus I've seen pictures of it around for a while and I've always fancied a mk6 WRC rep, and my RS2000 was on its last legs bodywork wise so thought sod it So I've set to work on it already as I'm not going to let it get any worse, the cossie kit from the sills up is still in good condition and solid, so I've fitted my entire RS2000 interior, literally everything, from the seats door cards, dash, even the seat belts which were cracked or missing covers, and replaced every factory clip and screw, my interior was mint so thats a good start. also replaced the door and front window seals for much better items, have removed the after market steering wheel for rs2k and replaced the stalks which have sorted the lighting gremlins out, replaced the two front tyres (hence finding the cracked one ) and fitted my competition kenwood headunit. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/DSC_4659.jpg Going to replace the fusebox through the week to hopefully sort the rest of the electrics out with that, and have the bits for the starting issue on hold at the local scrap yard, but if I cant fix it I'll swap the engine for a 130 gti as he only wants £120 for one. oh and the exhaust has got to go lol its just a bloody drone which I don't like after havin the rs2k. I'll update as I go but hopefully a better future for the old girl http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/DSC_4657.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/DSC_4658.jpg

reese646
Was driving it as needs must as I couldn't get the tyres changed till yesterday, but your right I was well aware of the risk, but all sorted now, one of the easiest fixes on the list intend at some point to remove the cossie sills, replace the metal sills underneath and replace the cossie sills with new items but no just yet. Ahmotorsport
Love this car, but something really needs to be done with the filler neck, even if it's just a removeable cap that sits flush. Good luck with it mate
reese646
LOL at kev, yeah I was aware mate I know what you mean, just had to be done though spare pants should be carried when driving on slicks on bumpy roads in a thunder storm the filler cap has been made today, took the old one of my rs and have wittled it away with a grinder and a sander and alot of patience and am happy with it now, but won't be fitted till I can prep it and paint it, but it looks good mocked up.
