  • 1 year later...

well its been a while since last time i was on here not alot to report really after keeping both escorts in a lock up sorned of the road (due to other projects )

regular starting them & a quick blast around the block it got to the point every thing started to stick so ive recently changed the brake pads & stripped down the calipers re-greased ect and put back together all seems to be spot on : )

how ever 2 years being stored the estate was looking rather sorry for its self so ive decided to put her back on the road providing i can get cheap enough insurance.

both archs had started to rust up nicely so today i took the sander to her ( what have i started ? ) anyway a few pictures during the progress

Nice work. When you did the underseal, did you just brush clean the existing and slap the new stuff over the top?

Oh and to match your black grill you should paint the lower one to match ;)

yeah i gave it a quick going over with a wire brush then slapped the new stuff on.

another busy day i removed the head light trying to find the fault why the head light wouldnt work there is 11v going to the terminals but only side light and flashers would work which would leave me to believe its the bulb at fault but after hooking it straight up to the battery with some spare wire it worked fine ???? i was left scratching my head for a while end results was me putting the standard ones back in as the mot is next week , all work fine i may add , also primed the boot & arches ready to spray but after priming it showed up a few imperfections so more work will be needed before spraying heres some pictures from today

i get an advisory every single year for having sill covers fitted (standard on focus, gti skirts on escort), its just because they cant get a propper look at the metal work, its just to cover their own back in the event of something happening and the plod turning up at he mot test station
