Must be going on 4 years now since my project money-pit mk5, saw this for sale & was tempted to say the least. You all know the car unless you been living on the moon for the last couple of years, Just want to start by saying thanks to Tommy (tc-dnb) for putting the time/effort/cash into getting this gorgeous car into it's current condition :thumb:

I havn't taken any of my own pics yet so i'm poaching these few

My plans for it so far is get a new set of standard plates made up as the ones on there are looking a little on the tatty side plus i'm on the lookout for a set of avez a's not sure what size yet but they are my all-time favourite alloy for escorts but saying that i've only ever seen them on escos's so far, i love the cossie wheels but i gotta put my own stamp on the car :)

Comments welcome.

So glad I didn't break this motor and it's stayed in the evo family :)

Excuse the plates haha, after I get pulled by the fuzz for my German pressed plates I was too tight to purchase a standard set lol. Also, I forgot to give you that spare indicator stalk. If you have any issues with the current one I'll post it up to you.

Can't believe you're gonna sell the cossies (nice bit of cash sitting there I guess lol). Enjoy Yule, take care of her ;)

The cossie's will more than likely still be on come start of show season but with a change of tyre size, i just wanna line up & refurb some avez's for future. Was to excited to get behind the wheel i forgot about the stalk but the one fitted seems to be ok.

Great car, Tommy has done a brilliant job

I'll see you in May at a show or 2 trig (after i've payed my membership), think last time we met was the 5 a side footy in preston? :pancake:

omfg i have a set of azev a's in my garege!

i dont know whether you would want them though they are really quite a rare size, theyre only 14s!

14's wouldn't go over the brakes but cheers for the offer. I do see the occasional set on ebay but didn't have any need for them at the time. No rush anyways

  • 4 weeks later...

As of yet havn't done anything to the car, i've ordered a new set of plates for it & priced up x4 khumo 215-40-16's, my local garage can get them in for £86 (each) inc vat, fitting & balancing ect bit on the expensive side i say, i can get them online for £61 each plus £3 delivery per tyre so will more than likely do that them nip em up the road & pay £20 for fitting.

Have also bought a mini usb lead for the dvd player (not a micro one as i 1st thought).

ITs always nice to see a sweet escort get picked up by someone else to carry one with, this is the best cabby ive seen.

Lose dem dials and get the digis up in there and thats about it :)

Nice to see inner lenses in the morettes too, dont be tempted to put holes in them.

are you sure your mate took those with a phone and not a polaroid camera???

i used to preffer the ride of cossies on 50 profiles tbh, although cosmetically I agree with you. Hows things going back to an escort?

The front's rub quite a bit with the 50's on but the rears are fine clearance wise (195/40). Not a polaroid lol, was prob because of the time of day it was just starting to go dusk, or his shakey hands.

You mean go for digital speedo? Not tempted to lose the inner lamps, i'm sure it gets plenty of air through the cold air feed. :thumb:

Yeh man, you wouldnt believe the transformation it gives you :)

I went from owning an x reg with digis to the older style dails which ive never actually had with my second escort, not for long though!

Might have to look into one of them units as the water temp gauge is stuck right at the top on mine, were they fitted in later registered mk6's? finesse?

Puma or Fiesta mate. You will need the loom that goes with it too. Got loads in my yard lol.

Nice to see all's well with the motor, and yeah get those tyres changed. I only fitted those 50s as was skint sorry :)

Yeh in later escorts, I got mine from a mk5 fiesta in the end, there's far more puma and fiesta white dials then escort ones knocking about. Whilst you have them out too you can change the LEDs to the colour of your choice too.

As TC said you need the digi plug for it too, there's a guide on these forums on how to do it. Changing mine was a bit later in my list of jobs but on cold days my speedo kept getting stuck on 20mph, its really quite wierd to not know how fast youre going. Tell you one thing too, because the digi dials take the speed mph from the ecu and not the mechanical gear box one it's far more accurate, specially if you've got bigger wheels.
