caled
Right then, I come home from work, flick on the PC and am greeted by a long beeeeeeep and no POST screen. Marvellous. Bit of troubleshooting later and I find that the graphics card is dead. Great. So, looks like I'll be needing a new gfx card (and a new mobo, cpu and ram, but Ill do that another time). Anybody got any suggestions for a decent graphics card ~£150 +/- £20 or so? As PCI-E is hopefully not going anywhere soon, Im expecting the card to go into the new pc when I get round to making it. As such, Id like it to be at least competent in modern games. It definitely needs to have two DVI ports, HDMI aswell would be a bonus (could I get a third screen?) Suggestions? I hear the 560Ti is supposed to be quite good?
caled
Or the Radeon HD6870? This DisplayPort malarky may be a way of getting that third monitor...
ScORTED
560Ti is brilliant if you have the money get one
stoo2000
I recently bought a Sapphire 5870. You can use Eyefinity to drive three screens. I love it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11179-09-...5960&sr=8-
caled
I admit, Im currently thinking the 6870 over the 560Ti, the performance and costs are comparable but the radeon has the possibility of running looooads of screens. Which is good. I assume games wont carry across the multiple screens unless told to? ie the multiple displays are recognised as individual displays rather than something like that matrox thingie majig. ScORTED
the multiple display thing doesn't work well unless they are all the same resolution (you've been warned)
caled
The two Ive already got are 1920x1080, so Ill aim for a third to be the same. Failing that, I can always put those two on the displayport.
ScORTED
I'd go for the 560 personally but its your money

ScORTED
I have no personal allegiance to either brand, I have ATI in my current rigs but I'd have a 560Ti in my main machine if I had a spare £130, the cards are fairly evenly matched though

markbsi
After owning both i'd go with nvidia, had to many problems with Ati on games, had to choose certain drivers revisions to make certain games perform well or even play at all.
Simonez
either of those cards will be perfect good all round budget gaming cards get the 448 shader model 560ti though
