Got 3 flat screen TV's in the house (51" and 2 42" ones) that we want to put on the wall (currently they are just on TV stands).

Just wondering, do I literally just look online for any TV wall brackets or do I need specific ones?

Maybe I'm being stupid, but surely every flat screen TV is different on the back?

Also, if anyone has bought any before any recommendations would be appreciated :)

I have one, from memory all you need to look out for is the mounting holes on the back of the TV, and make sure you get the right size mounting bracket, for your brand of TV, and yes there are loads on the net, swear by mine it tilts turns moves in and out of the wall, so you can position to suit where you are sitting, without moving half the furniture, hope that helps :thumb:

Do I have to check that it works with my brand of TV though? Or should I only need to find one that fits the size? i.e. for 42" TV's?

Found these:

Think these are any good?

The mounting holes on the back of your TV and the ones built into the bracket are a universal standard so they should fit if you pick the correct TV size for the bracket. I bought this £25 from ebay around 3 years ago and it been fantastic:

Make sure you screw the bracket onto one of the studs on your wall, if not youll have a TV lying in bits on the floor and a nasty hole on your wall.

You can get a stud detector that'll do that job from maplin for under a tenner

Heres mine....

Lol, that's not a normal door, it's the cupboard under the stairs! It's a 42".

The bracket in that link looks just like mine, it's great. The plate bolts to the wall. Then you bolt the hangers to the back of the TV and hang/screw it all onto the plate.
