cam belt troubles

Hi im new to the forum and after a little help basicly I fear my cam belt has snapped and was wondering if anyone would now the extent of the damage likely to be caused if it snaps while still and normal idle speed about 900 rmp thanks.

if you suspect its snapped then dont try to start it .remove cover and check .if its snapped then most certain to have bent some valves but could try fitting new belt and doing a compression test

If the belt has snapped then you have definately bent at least 8 valves. Head off job mate

Yeh.......did you notice anything odd when it snapped when you were idling? Did you drive it home after?

 

I mean as the rest have said the damage is highly probably but for some reason I get the impression that you managed to drive after or something.
