sidrick
Anyone had experience of these? http://www.quickvalve.co.uk/index.htm Seems a good idea, but I can't quite stretch to £26 quid for a sump plug just now.
Ahmotorsport
Seems a waste of money. I never spill oil during changes and i never get it on my hands either.
sidrick
I think it makes sense for those that don't have access to ramps or a workshop. Trying to undo a rounded sump plug while lying under you car with limited space isn't much of a laugh.

Have you done many oil changes mate? some cars have the filter in such a shite place that its almost impossible to not make a mess? and getting oil on your hands whilst taking off a sump nut and trying not to drop it into what you are draining the oil into? Thats a serious question?

I get it so it's on the last half a thread and whizz it off and if you're quick enough it doesn't get you.

p4u1
ive allways made a mess it starts leaking out from the plug before its even half way out
sidrick
The plug's normally not too bad for me (unless it falls in the drain pan and I have to go fishing), but on horizontal filters it's always a mess. I think the main benifit of these is no stripped sump threads, no rounded sump plugs. The S2 guys really recommend these, but the old Audi plugs are notorious for 'welding' themselves to the sump if over-torqued.
Stu
I'm not sure i'd want to risk it.
sidrick
I'd be worried that it might open itself, but the additional circlip looks pretty hardcore. It should be included free IMO.
Craig855S
On the one hand it looks great, and i can see the appeal, however i wonder how easy it is for it to just come open whilst driving? I need to do an oil change imminently, not looking forward to it as i know the nut is rounded (ive been under there and had a go already)
