redmex
Ive had a parcel direct from Germany Full kit -40mm all round £220 to my door http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29446.jpg The difference between old front and new front legs was very noticable. This made fitting the springs damn awkward as they needed quashing mega amount to fit. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29447.jpg Anyway I got all four fitted and this is how it sat before settling Will get pics updated when i have time to give it a shakedown run and settled http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29448.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29449.jpg By the way , the new repeaters are on and im liking it Sparkie Edited July 30, 2012 by redmex
redmex
Another update in the world of Mexico .. Starting to focus on the preparation of the 2.0 conversion. Strange when u want something u wait months then suddenly two turn up!So now i have two DEEP ECU's Don't suppose a spare will hurt, but also found this gem while looking ..!! "HO" http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29644.jpg It was just what I needed to keep the car looking subtle modded in the Mex period/style.. A trip to the local breaker looking for parts to make a MAF hose adapter I stumbled over this new MAF .... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29645.jpg What did i say about waiting ages then ... Grrrrrrr Anyway after some measuring up I managed to make this from a AUDI intake pipe. Perfect match to go from Mondy MAF to Escort intake hose keeping it all looking a factory install. So Escort airbox - inlet manifold etc all from right period. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29646.jpg Well thats it for now
JC
Why do you need the adaptor? the 2.0 Maf fits perfect onto the 1.8 induction hose and 1.8 box?
redmex
Why do you need the adaptor? the 2.0 Maf fits perfect onto the 1.8 induction hose and 1.8 box?Hi JC People on this site assume a 2.0 conversion will normally use a plastic 1.8 inlet system, but here's a few pics to show how the 130 Big port can be used and its little quirks it brings.. LOL Below is the visual difference on two 1.8 Manifolds.. HO inlet manifold "130PS" (on left) - Against a SO inlet "1.8" (on right) HIGH OUTPUT V's STANDARD OUTPUT http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29686.jpg Then look at the MAF's Escort "Alloy system" (left) Mondeo "plastic system" (right).. you instantly see the difference in the induction pipe requirements. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29687.jpg When connected to the escort induction hose you can see the need for my adapter. Fords 130 hose including the pipe over the cam cover is identical in size to the 1.6 in the pic, Ive checked as i have both here http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29688.jpg The Mondeo TB will fit the Alloy manifolds but will require the Escort throttle cable bracket and its cam lever assembly to match.. The TPS plug will point slightly up hill instead of its usual down stance.. No big deal eh!Sorry no pics to show but its strait forward stuff The difference between 130 injectors and 2.0 are shown below.. 2.0 "left , 130ps "right" and they seat home equally well in the injector rail as shown in the lower pic of the manifold http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29689.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29690.jpg Im not trying to show anyone how to suck eggs, but this info is always valuable to someone , just like some of the mods guides on this site Ive used Sparkie
