duke2k7
Guys, Hope someone out there can help me out a little. I have just bought a 57 plate focus and its time for my little escort to be retired. Thing is, its got a full tank o fuel, and there is far too much moneys-worth to simply let it go with the car. If there a SAFE way to siphon the fuel without the silly option of bodging a hole in the tank? I'm not certain if I can or not, but there must be a way.... Hs anyone successfully emptied their escort's tank? Hope you can help. Cheers
SLEEMAN
there are proper fuel siphons. but only garages and some bodyshops would have them. best thing to do is drop the tank from underneath and empty it although. the best way is seeing if a garage can siphon it out for you! Ahmotorsport
Take a fuel pipe off the rail and switch the ignition on, let the pump do the work.
etrebus
Take a fuel pipe off the rail and switch the ignition on, let the pump do the work.this will worrk for about two seconds then pump will shut down unless engine is running
ScORTED
this is correct you'd need to supply 12v to the pump have you considered doing a track day? that turn the fuel into fun also droping the tank isn't too bad on an escort, are you planning on selling it or crushing it? ScORTED
you could get a fuel pump connector from a breaker and bosh 12v into it that way, its how i emptied an escort once Take a fuel pipe off the rail and switch the ignition on, let the pump do the work.this will worrk for about two seconds then pump will shut down unless engine is runningSorry, i think of how we do it on the Racers.just connect a pipe to the return to a can then start the engine you'd need to be extremely careful doing it like that
