Nadine
sorry to hear that deffo not nice. I would like to think the factory will pay you as they are choosing to close. However i have heard of places that will close and not pay their employees. I know you wont want to due to the circumstances, but maybe better asking them if you will gt paid

sidrick
I'm not sure I could bring myself to ask under the circumstances. However, I would assume that I'd get paid if I was sent home.

ScORTED
really you should be paid. Check your contract though see if there are provisions for closures etc
Craig855S
If he doesnt intend to pay you ask if he'll be opening up on the weekend to make up for lost productivity, then work that?

wwwd
I'm a bit torn about this thread. Is the amount you get paid for one days work worth being hated by everyone at your workplace? Personally I would assume that you weren't getting paid, then you might get a nice surprise when your pay cheque comes.

PeeWee
All in all I would wait and see, if they are paying you then fair enough, if they're not paying you there's nothing you can do about it and asking will only make you uncomfortable with no reason as you can't change it anyway. bongo
bosses held a meeting this morning to inform everyone about the circumstances and that we will get paid for the hours we were out of work,on a sad note moral was low today, and it seemed very quiet in work,as he was a lively character and will be sadly missed. thanks for peoples input.
