mannionion Posted June 1, 2012 Share Posted June 1, 2012 having a bit of a problem, replaced cv boot and took driveshaft out for more access, now the cv joint won't fit back on after hours of cursing, is there any easy way of going about this? etrebus Posted June 2, 2012 Share Posted June 2, 2012 having a bit of a problem, replaced cv boot and took driveshaft out for more access, now the cv joint won't fit back on after hours of cursing, is there any easy way of going about this?have you damaged the circlip/splines ? if you havent carefully remove circlip and see if the joint will slide on the shaft if it does then refit circlip and using some grease position the clip in the center of the splines (the grease just holds the clip in the middle of the hole)locate the joint on the splines and give a gentle tap with a soft faced hammer dont hit too hard just tap hopefully you have already done it but if you haven't hope this helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
