Naylor2006
I really am hoping to get this done before Ford Fair, my Cossies arent in the best condition, some pretty nasty curbing, stupid thing is I havent curbed them once in a year, bet once I get this done I do. Anyway my question is more related to the process or refurbing and can a company actually repair curbs, the Cossie alloy wheel has a lip around it and thats the bit thats been curbed and scratched and flattened, is it possible to build this back up to its original finish? If so what do they use? Many thanks
p4u1
possibily alloy putty will rebuild the lip
SLEEMAN
Most professional places will shotblast the wheels first then do some alloy welding if there is any deep kerbing etc that the shotblasting doesn't remove, most places can usually get rid of buckles or slight bends in the wheel so it's near as straight as possible! Then they will powdercoat the wheels in the standard silver or any colour you prefer then try refit your tyres and rebalance them!

Naylor2006
and having spent quite a while looknig for it due to the unique way evo is maintained its long gone in one of the various forum losses of old It was Andy's 'how to' that got me thinking, problem was the rim he refurbed looked pretty smart already. Thanks all for the info, looks like they'll look brand new by the end of it then. Anyone think any other colour other than silver would look good on my car? Ahmotorsport
There's a place down here that are really good, don't know if they have other places dotted around the country, but they're called Spit and Polish, they pick your wheels up, go refurb them and bring them back and it's dirt cheap and they make a real nice job. Here they are http://www.spitandpolish.co.uk/home.html

Naylor2006
Very nice indeed scorted. I had a dream the other night that I painted them white and they wouldnt let me in the Ford Fair cause of it, clearly thinking about my car too much at the moment. Gonna head over to SUYM see what everyone thinks, graphite grey looks the nuts too.
Andyb0127
Most places as sleeman said, will either shotbalst or dip them. Then do the refurbing. How badly damaged are the actual alloys. If you fancy doing them yourself put some pics up mate I'd be more than happy to give you some help/advice o. Doing them. Most of the ford alloys standard silver is called, high sparkle silver. I'll put a link below for you these sell everything for alloy refurbs. http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=L&ai=C...alloypaints.com

ScORTED
its all fairly easy stuff, just requires a bit of patience, honestly anyone can do it. Graphite grey is nice but most people go for dark colours, I think silver with a hint of blue or purple would look good against the colour of your car
