Mike-evans
Think I already know the answer to this but want to get your thoughts on it..... Tyres are around 6 months old and both fronts are worn on the inside down to the wear blocks, outsides are like new... Wishbones (firstline) are around 3-4 months old... Its dropped 50mm (sure this is the problem) on coilovers.. Before i fit new tyres to the front, would I benefit in tyre life by raising the car up? Was thinking of raising it to 30 or 40mm? Would any other parts cause inner tyre wear or just how low it is dropped?

Mike-evans
Whats your tracking like? Both new TREs and tracking was done just before I fitted the tyres around 3-4 months ago. I didnt think of tracking due to the fact that both tyres have the same amount of inner wear so I put it down to camber issue from lowering it..... Will get the tracking checked though

I have no way of measuring it lol.. How much do adjustable wishbones cost, and who makes them? Would the inner tyre wear get reduced if I raise the car to 30 or 40mm? Naylor2006
The tracking people can tell you what your camber is, or inner tyre wear will I was down 60mm on my old escort, the chaps who did my tracking said my camber was within acceptable limits however I still got inner tyre wear like no tomorrow. scottg17
Firstline arms are shite, I went through 3 sets in about 10k with my 1st escort. Adjustable arms from Area six are the way to go, these are adjustable so you can take out the camber so its not wearing the inner edges. http://www.area-six.co.uk/Adjustable%20Cam...sion%20Arms.htm
Mike-evans
Think Im going to get a set of Royal Mail arms from Ford, heard alot of good reviews about these..
SteveB
Run your hand backwards and forwards over the tyre surface. If you can feel steps on the edges of the tread when you run your hand in one direction then your tracking is wrong - it's surprising how many garages set this incorrectly on the mk6. If the tread feels smooth and even both ways then it's down to camber.
