scortpower
Not been on here for ages so thought now im back in a ford I'll post some pics and say hello. Hope everyone is well. I've copied the pics from other threads I've done.Well after swaying away from Fords and getting my astra sri turbo.Looks like I'm now heading back to a ford. I've only had the astra 13 months but I've never really bonded with the car as I've always had fords. No matter how much I tried to not look for a new car I just always found my self looking for a ford again. I'll be putting the astra back to standard so all parts will be for sale. I had a st170 which ended up written off so the bought another and was bored of that so then got a astra (big regret although it did look nice)heres a few pics of previous cars in orderhttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/turbopics015.jpgthen my first sthttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/34656_466682750827_822075827_638185.jpgwhich ended like this.http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/73627_10150303752590608_540670607_15489614_914191_s.jpgthen the second st.http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/stbits011.jpgthen the astra turbo http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/SDC10002.jpgNow the new beast.http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/b8abbea9.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/068f297c.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/234ed96e.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/049d4f33.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/c27ffc37.jpgWell here are some pics of the new motor. I've had it a week now and absolutely love it! the power and the handling is great and its such a well built car. I've always wanted one and held out til a Electric orange one came about and now I'm in a good position to afford one. The running cost and tax was'nt really a issue due to my astra being a 2.0 TURBO so tax and mpg are the same, the st guzzles a bit more but not much more.Any way here are some pics.http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/99609101.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/23e9cc3f.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/2036aa04.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/f7d797e5.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/2bb66e9e.jpghttp://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/5be52e56.jpgPlans are cat back exhaust, remap, airtec gen 3 cooler, air filter of some sort my aim is for something around 300bhp.also plan on some decals like this which is different from most st's with the usual white stripes.http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/scortpower/c8677256.jpg
eetaylog
Good to see you back. I always liked the Mk5, what happened to it? Seem to remember you saying you were having misfiring issues that you couldnt get to the bottom of?

Seem to remember you saying you were having misfiring issues that you couldnt get to the bottom of?That happened just after the conversion and it was the fuel pump. After that it ran sweet. I sold it to a lad and last I know it was scraped so don't know why he must of crashed it as the car was mint

Not silky smooth, the odd little lumpy here and there, Mainly when its cold, Seems to lessen if I run Tesco's Momentum or Vpower Seems to be normal, mate had one before and it was the same Its defiantly normal Totally normal...its a trait of the Volvo 5 cylinder I too dont for one minute believe that the lumpy idle is engineered in but I do know that 5 cylinder lumps are not the smoothest on tickover. If you had a problem then it would also show itself when your driving. Ive had two STs and both of them are the same on tickover, lumpy and uneven. One minute theyre fine then the next you can feel a lumpiness...totally normal. scottg17
Think it varies from car to car but don't seem to be an issue. Three main things to look out for are the Oil separator diaphragm failureAlternatorBoost actuator solenoid All easy fixes
