Been on here for the last 6 years and i looked through all of my threads and noticed i haven't put a SUYM thread on here at all

well for the last 5 years i have owned this:

thats how it started out life then to this within two months:

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/SV101960.jpg

then fancied a new set of wheels:

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/2009_08020126.jpg

then it looked like this before i was garaged for the last year or so:

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/050.jpg

only because the engine seized up which was a 2.0 for about 6 months! which looked like this

so now its being fully stripped down and being turned into track toy car.............for now.

so the original 1.8 engine is going back in with 2.0 cams new cambelt and water pump also a trust electric 4 branch manifold but still undecided about inlet go for standard for now or go for bike carbs/throttle bodies

bought another set of wheels but proper good ones and may get some more again for a set of either slicks or semi slicks

some more pictures to come soon

well i'm going to take it easy first, so going to run in this engine and see how the car handles with the suspension set up and brakes i'm going for along with wheels and tyres too, then i'll upgrade the engine when the 1.8 blows or fails on me!

then i'll be looking to upgrade to st170 engine i will either lock off the variable timing or replace the head with a standard but modified 2.0 blacktop head.

so minimal horsepower for now maybe up to 120-130. if the 1.8 survives alot of battering maybe i will upgrade to proper jenveys and management and see how that improves it. then when the time is right i'll upgrade engines. but now i'll concentrate on weight loss both me and the car in any way possible. but doing it proper rather than super budget way.

Remeber this from EP! lol

Don't bother with the itbs mate you'll get about 130-140 and it's just not worth the cost, st170 engine can retain the vvt if you use standalone management. And that's an engine that has alot of potential!!

I'm doing something similar when mine comes off the road, already got:

Compmo's

6 point cage with door bars

Avo Coilovers with adjustable top mounts

300mm front brakes

Wheels came with the car but the rest owes me about £400 so no bad :)

As much as I love the ST170 engine, its not worth doing for the money it would cost you, they're a heavy engine and if you're spending money on engine changes, Duratec is the way to go, nice ST150 or 2.0L Mondeo engine. Otherwise you may as well retain the 2L Silvertop and spend your money tuning it.

keep it as a 2.0l with a set of bike carbs on it running a megajolt ignition and it'll have roughly the same power as a standard ST engine so its a waste of time putting the ST engine in it especially with the amount of work that will be involved with making it fit

what suspension are you using

i have koni shocks on mine and it handles quite well and surprises a few people on track with the performance
