do lower front strut braces make a difference ?

i got a lower cabby brace from my breakers for £3.

bit of a pain to fit the middle bolt,

i had to release the rack securing bolts to allow rack to be lifted a bit,

slightly elongate the hole in the subframe where the bolt went through and ground the head of the bolt a bit also.

fitting the outer bolts you just remove the front wishbone bolt, slide the wishbone to the side to get the bolt to drop down then refit the wish bone.

mine is a genuine ford brace and holes for it are already in subframe. fitted to my mk6 1997 1.8 ghia so should fit most escorts from 1990 on.

fitted with a top strut brace also and feels like they make a difference.

hope this helps
