I've always fancied the Mk3 Escort, but I've recently discovered the Mercury Lynx (a badge-engineered version of the North American Ford Escort). And I like its typical early 80's Americana look while still having a similar body to the European Escorts. And I love chrome. Do you guys think it would be possible for a European Escort Mk 3 or Mk 4 to be converted to a Mercury Lynx (at least in the front)? Do you think that Mk3/4 Escort tail lights will look good tinted all red? Or importing a Lynx to Europe will be easier? No, nothing really wrong with it.... just I think it looks like a dog ( my OWN opinion) and im surprissed someone would want a car nowadays to look like this. An edgier back and an ovoid ugly front that doesn't match the back of the car. No wonder the lovely Mk 1 Focus killed the Escort nameplate.Well, the Mk V/Vb Escorts looked a lot better than the Mk VI IMO. Im not having a go at anyone! These threads are all about people's car's and others opinions/comments. My opinion is its ugly and thats it, I dont mean to be offensive but I dont like the look. Anyway, I thought you were thinking of getting one of these and giving it a facelift, not own one yet? Therefore Im not abusing someones car cos I didnt think you have one........... yet!? I'll either convert it to a Mark III (a lot easier) or to the Am Escort/Lynx (do you guys think that would be possible?). Or I can just buy an American one one day.
