hardasrs
trial fitted the inlet, chuffed to bits that it fits and all the measurements i gave to Andrew were correct, master cylinder is in the way, so moved it out of the way but when asking Andrew to make the inlet i told him that the master cylinder was being binned. no problems with space between the bulkhead or the standard engine mount. didn't pull the car right out of the garage so picture quality ant the best. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51672.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51802.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51782.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51722.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51702.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51812.jpg also got Andrew to weld up the fuel regulator http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51842.jpg difference between standard and the one that Andrew has taken back, all the same size from the inlet to the head now. standardhttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51892.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51882.jpg newhttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51832.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51852.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/DSCF51872.jpg on the headhttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/500turboengine064.jpg

ScORTED
didn't have much nice to say so made my comment smaller wheels too big and too much power for FWD. Cage looks nice but you might as well have gone for the 16 point jobby for how far you've gone with this car i wouldnt rly say the wheels were too big, loads of people run 17s on escorts...as for the power id be interested to know how you plan on achieving this figure. and as for having too much power, there are loads of focus RS (mk1 +2) or even frst's that produce more power than that so i wouldnt say its too much power for fwd. u are however gna need some serious running gear to keep it all under control though I value your opinion 17s are too big for a mk5/6 escort; just because lots of people run them doesn't mean they're a good idea; I've had a bit of experience with this. minirotty
Oi! You've not put pic's up of the best two bits yet lol Nissan injecters fit fine also, they've been used in many RS conversions for years now, without issue! I will be running same injecters in my Pikey Van Turbo. didn't have much nice to say so made my comment smaller wheels too big and too much power for FWD. Lots of opinions in this thread being thrown about, doesn't mean any of you are correct. 17's are fine also! it's personal preferance. Lucifer 2 is running 18's, and will be fine. malfis
Nice porting. But I don't think it is good idea to have so smooth surface on intake. ?

Kev the fibreglass boot and bonnet are still bubble wrapped up, not even looked at them yet, still got loads of other parts for the car so will put up more pics when i get a chance, really cant see the why theres such a big issue with wheel size, yes 15s will most certainly handle better, but small calipers and disks just aren't going to cut it with the power im aiming for, so 17s it is. some pics of the Group A rs2000 rally car subframe, looks heavy but its only 14.5kg, should stiffen things up at the front once fitted, just got to save some penny's for the grpa tcas and comp struts and the front/rear grpa roll bars, http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/fram5.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/fram4.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/fram3.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/fram2.jpghttp://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/fram1.jpg also been looking at moving the radiator to the boot. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt342/HARDASRS/101_3300466.jpg this what i have come up with taken inspiration from some stunning Audi's that have move the radiator, might not work but it will have two cold air inlets from rear side windows one each side and a scoop from under the car, then the hot air will exit via a big hole in the tailgate and two holes in the polycarbonate rear window, heat likes to rise so hoping when the car is stationary heat will escape through the rear window. the radiator will be enclosed. the turbo is over the gearbox so thats not why i was thinking of moving the radiator to the boot, as the rs2k was not designed to have an intercooler fitted, so space up front is very limited for a decent sized intercooler, 100% want to try this but will use the standard engine to test first. scottybo
i dont think any N/A car was designed to have a fmic fitted....thats why people cut the bumpers up, i think it looks cool like that though
hardasrs
Good project, would that maxi beam effect tyre wear or not? How much was the inlet if you don't mind me asking inlet cost me £550 to be made up, with the maxi beam, that's a good question, probably will have some effect, just have to wait and see. track tyres don't last that long anyway. cheers to all that like the project
hardasrs
i dont think any N/A car was designed to have a fmic fitted....thats why people cut the bumpers up, i think it looks cool like that though have brought one of these http://jam-sport.co.uk/shop/stage2-airtec-...k2-intercooler/ and this will fit were the standard rad was, that why im also looking into the rear rad conversion, will have to get some holes cut into the bumper to get the most out of it tho.
