wwwd
I currently have an E46 BMW 3 Series M Sport Saloon, with 17" Double Spoke alloys (as below): http://static.ccfs-static.com/images/car-parts/large/2012/07/25/bff0a5f63d8c1f30b3fa66205033ac09-1.jpg But I'm looking to get 18" MV2 alloys like these: http://is00.thegumtree.com/image/big/158599268.jpg My question is, can I simply swap these over or do I have to do something special? Apologies for the stupid question but I just want to make sure!
shaun1988
Have no idea, but the first set of wheels look much better I think
sidrick
Straight swap. The ones you have are nicer though.

wwwd
Awww man. Been deliberating whether to go for the 18's ever since I got the car (about 3 years ago) and finally decided to go for them. Maybe I should have a vote? 17" Double Spokes: http://imganuncios.mitula.net/bmw_318i_sedan_2001_for_sale_96635392802711912.jpg 18" MV2 Alloys: http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimages/218295/future.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8296/7965332390_07070f2623_z.jpg Edited December 2, 2012 by wwwd
robbie
i prefer the mv2 's
sidrick
The double spokes are more deep-dish, which is cool. Have you taken into account the cost of decent 18" rubber, worse ride due to lower profile and front wishbone bushes on a yearly basis? The 18's look good, but not better, and not worth the extra coin.

Ahmotorsport
Originals are nicer IMO. Nice whichever way you go though.
SLEEMAN
the mv2's are an absolute b*tch to refurb mind! i go for the 17's. and as said you got to take in about the size of tyres etc. costs. plus everyone always go for the mv2's or m3 wheels! go different! stevmo3691
I'd go for 17's as well but it is all down to personal preference - I just prefer the cheaper tyres and better ride (why my e39 is staying on its 17's)
Stu
I don't believe he was asking for opinions on wheels, just whether or not it'll fit.
mess
Yep, straight swap. I personally prefer the MV 1's http://is00.thegumtree.com/image/big/156669280.jpg or the BBS split rims off the 328 sport http://www.fastgerman.com/pictures/328SL.JPG
